The concept of the new world order, from theoretical and practical perspectives, includes important strategic considerations for explaining macro-level power relations, the rules sustaining them, and comprehensive trends of global governance in the present and future era. The family, like any other phenomenon, is influenced by this broader context and, if possessing sufficient strength and capacity, can affect the processes of this order. Understanding the interactions between the new world order, international legal rules, and the family is highly significant. This article seeks to theoretically explain the new world order and examine its consequences for the family in nine specific areas from the perspective of international law. The main concern is to identify which international legal approach should be adopted and strengthened in response to the positive and negative consequences of the new world order and which strategies should be prioritized. Based on the findings of this research, conducted through a descriptive-analytical method and examination of international documents based on a critical international legal approach, a serious struggle between defenders of the existing order and advocates of transformation is intensifying. Existing international law, despite its challenges, deficiencies, and crises resulting from an unjust international order, still has considerable capacities that can and should be utilized to transform the global order and achieve a just and democratic order. States and societies seeking to improve the status of the family through transforming the existing order and reforming international law should not neglect their domestic conditions. Enhancing justice, advancing human rights, strengthening the family, and developing national capacities will provide the basis for more effective participation in the global arena. This article provides theoretical and practical recommendations for policymakers, authorities, judicial actors, researchers, and civil society activists.
